Study Rooms
1.0 Purpose:
- The purpose of this policy is to establish criteria related to the use of study rooms at the DeSoto Public Library. The library has limited study room space; as a result our policy is an attempt to create fair access to the space.
2.0 Study Room Reservations:
- Following is the policy for study room use:
- The library has two Study Rooms. Each room may be booked for a two-hour session. If there is no booking for the room(s) at the end of the two-session, then a request may be made to extend use of the room for one additional two-hour session. Patronswill be limited to four hours of study room use per day.
- Patrons will need a valid library card from the DeSoto, Zula B. Wylie, Lancaster or Duncanville library to reserve a study room.
- Study room access is on a first-come, first-served protocol.
- Requests must be made in person on the day of use. Requests to use the study rooms may not be made by phone or email. Reservations may not be made for dates in advance.
- If a study room is not available when a patron arrives, a reservation may be made for later that same day when a room becomes available. If the patron does not return to use the room within 15 minutes of the designated start time, the room may be booked by another patron.
- Patrons must check in at the Information Desk before using the study rooms. Library staff will escort patrons to the appropriate room and allow entry.
3.0 Use Policies:
- Following are study room use policies:
- A maximum of three patrons are allowed in a study room at one time.
- White Board markers will be available for use at the checkout desk.
- Disruptive behavior may lead to a loss of access to the study rooms.
- Patrons must vacate the room at the end of their session(s).
