Research Databases
The library provides access to a number of databases available online from any computer with Internet access. Some of the databases are subscription databases, which means that the library pays an annual fee for access. Below are the databases geared towards education. Learning Express Library (Learn-A-Test)
The library’s subscription allows DeSoto Library patrons unlimited access to a database of practice tests based on the official exams. Some of the practice exams include: GED, ASVAB, SAT, ACT, PSAT, TAKS for some grades, police officer entrance exams, firefighter entrance exams, and real estate license exams. To set up an account from home or work, click on "New User," and use the 14 digit number on the back of your DeSoto Library card as the username. Choose a password. Once the account is set up, you can login as a "Returning User."
Mango Foreign Language Learning
Mango is an online language-learning database that can help you learn languages like Spanish, French, Japanese, German, Mandarin Chinese, Greek, Italian, Russian, and more. To use the database, type in the 14 digit number on the back of your DeSoto Public Library card.
