Library Board

Overview
  • Comprised of seven members appointed by the City Council to serve for a two year term, with term limits of six years
  • Serve in an advisory capacity to the DeSoto City Council in matters that pertain to the library
  • Serve as a liaison and representative of the community on library matters, as well as support and promote the need for great public library services in DeSoto
  • Support the DeSoto Public Library mission, vision, and values
  • Work to promote library services and programs, and advocate for the library throughout the community
  • Advise library staff, as needed, in developing policies, budget requests, and strategic planning
  • Board will help advise in reconciling contradictory viewpoints and serve as a channel for citizen expression in library matters
Meeting schedule
The Library Board meets the first Thursday of each month at 7:00PM in the Multipurpose Room in the DeSoto Public Library.
