The DeSoto City Council approved an Ordinance at their March 7, 2017 meeting to accept the Certification of Unopposed candidates and declared unopposed candidates for Councilmember Place 2, Virgil Helm and Councilmember Place 4, Rachel Proctor elected to office.  As a result, the municipal election called for May 6, 2017 will be canceled.  If you have any questions, please contact the City Secretary's office at 972.230.9646.

DeSoto ISD will hold a Board of Trustees election on May 6, 2017.  For more information, please contact DeSoto ISD Administration at 972.223.6666.

The Concerned DeSoto Citizens will host a Candidate Forum on April 8, 2017 from 10 am to noon in the DeSoto City Council Chambers at City Hall.  Newly elected City Councilmembers, Rachel Protor and Virgil Helm will be on hand to offer brief comments.  The twelve candidates for positions on the Desoto ISD Board of Trustees have been invited to attend the forum as well.  They will provide brief statements and then answer prepared questions from the audience.  This Candidate forum is a good way to meet the candidates prior to the election on May 6, 2017.  This forum will be broadcast live and replayed on the City Cable Channel 16 on Spectrum and 99 on AT&T Uverse as well as the City's website.
