MAY 6, 2023 - GENERAL ELECTION INFORMATION AND PUBLIC DOCUMENTS

The City of DeSoto will hold a General Election on May 6, 2023 for Councilmember Place 2 and Councilmember Place 4.

The filing period for DeSoto residents for a place on the ballot is: Wednesday, January 18, 2023 through Friday, February 17, 2023, from 9:00am – 12 noon and 1:00pm – 4:30pm.

Applications for Councilmember Place 2 and Councilmember Place 4 will not be accepted after 5:00pm on Friday, February 17, 2023.  The filing period has closed.

The City Secretary’s Office makes available a candidate’s packet to acquaint candidates with applicable requirements for the City’s election. For the May 6, 2023 municipal election, candidate applications and packets will be available beginning Wednesday January 4, 2023. The candidate’s packet is not required in order to prepare to run for municipal office and provides information to assist those interested in running for municipal office.

Early voting by in-person appearance will begin on Monday, April 24, 2023 and continue through Friday, April 28, 2023 between 8:00am - 5:00pm; on Saturday, April 29, 2023, between 8:00am and 5:00pm; on Sunday, April 30, 2023, between 12:00pm and 6:00pm; and on Monday, May 1, 2023 through Tuesday, May 2, 2023, between 7:00am - 7:00pm.  Early voting will take place at Disciple Central Community Church (DC3), located at 901 North Polk Street, DeSoto, Texas.

Election Day Voting is May 6, 2023 and is scheduled at the following locations:
